Website terms and basis of engagement

The terms on which this website is provided and the general framework under which ABDO Advogados accepts instructions from clients of Brazil Company Setup.

Last updated: September 2026.

1. About this website

This website is operated by ABDO Advogados under the brand Brazil Company Setup. Its content is general information about doing business in Brazil. It is not legal advice, does not create an attorney-client relationship and should not be relied upon without advice specific to your circumstances.

2. Accuracy and changes in law

Brazilian corporate, tax, exchange-control and immigration rules change frequently. We update the site periodically but cannot guarantee that every statement reflects the law on the day you read it. Requirements, fees and timelines are confirmed in writing for each engagement.

3. Engagement of ABDO Advogados

Services are provided only after a written proposal is accepted and an engagement letter is signed. The engagement letter defines the scope, the fixed professional fees, the treatment of third-party costs, invoicing milestones, responsibilities of each party, the powers granted to our representatives, confidentiality and the governing law and forum. In case of conflict, the engagement letter prevails over this page.

4. Fees and third-party costs

Professional fees are fixed per scope as stated in the proposal. Government fees, notary and apostille costs abroad, sworn translations, courier, bank charges and immigration fees are estimated in the proposal and passed through at cost. Processing times of public authorities and banks are outside our control.

5. Resident representation

Where ABDO Advogados attorneys act as attorney-in-fact or administrator of a client company, their powers are strictly those defined in the instrument approved by the client. The client remains responsible for the lawfulness of the company's activities and for providing the information required for compliance. Representation may be terminated by either party with reasonable notice and a formal hand-over.

6. Know-your-client obligations

As a law firm subject to anti-money-laundering rules, we verify the identity, ownership and source of funds of every client and may decline or terminate an engagement where verification is not possible.

7. Intellectual property

The content, design and trademarks on this website belong to ABDO Advogados and may not be reproduced without written permission.

8. Governing law

These website terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Engagements are governed by the law and forum stated in the engagement letter.
